The weekend is upon us and boy, do we have some great plot for you! From live music to fresh sushi, we bring you the best events in and around Kampala happening this weekend.
LAUGH CONQUERS ALL
Start off your weekend with a few cracked ribs. This is a one man comedy show starring the legendary Richard Tuwangye who promises to leave you all in stitches. It goes down tonight from 7:30pm at the National Theatre for only 50k.
GUVNOR PRESENTS: CIROC POP NIGHT
Later tonight, head over to Guvnor as they pop their latest signature cocktails; Ciroc Couture and Miami Vice. DJs Bryan, Baby Luv, Dash and Selector Jay will be on the ones and twos while John Blaq will be the special guest artiste of the night. Doors open at 9pm and entrance is only 25k. I mean, if Guvnor is holding a party to launch a couple of cocktails then they must be that good. Don’t miss out.
Coming off the back of a 16-13 win over Kenya a couple of weeks back, the return leg of the Elgon Cup will surely be a fiercely contested game between two sworn rivals, with pride and bragging rights at stake. Will Uganda go for the win, or will Kenya pull a rabbit out the hat? Find out tomorrow at Uganda’s home of rugby (and pork), Kyaddondo. Entrance is 20k and 50k VIP and gates open at midday. Let’s get behind our boys and rally them on to victory. Sponsored by Nile Special.
EVOKE NIGHT: NEON UNDER THE BRIDGE II
Club Pilsener alongside Evoke take us back to Jinja for the second edition of Neon Under The Bridge. So summon the squad, pack a bag and head to the Forever Resort Jinja, with the new Nile Bridge serving as the perfect backdrop to what promises to be a day of fun, awesome performances and, well, lights. Show starts at 3pm and the entrance fee of 10k comes with a free Club. Head over to Jinja and get your groove on in neon.
THE BRUNCH AFFAIR @ BRISK RESTAURANT
Wind down the weekend with family and friends at Brisk Restaurant as Flavia and Shushu host you and yours to an afternoon of easy chills. DJs Babundu and Pita will be on the turntables as you have your fill of what Brisk has to offer. Call the numbers on the flyer for table bookings. Sponsored by Bach Wines.
SUNDAY SUSHI BUFFET (with unlimited drinks)
This Sunday, come have your fill of the best sushi in town and the widest selection of drinks at Yamasen Japanese Restaurant on Tank Hill road, Muyenga. Here you will have a taste of Yamasen’s original sushi recipes with fresh fish all the way from Mombasa, Kenya. But don’t choke on the sushi, because Yamasen have a fine catalogue of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks to choose from at no extra cost. It’s also a family day out so bring the kids too. Entrance is 180k for adults and 100k for the little ones. Event runs from midday to 5pm.
Remember to enjoy yourself responsibly and don’t get too drunk. Happy weekend everyone.
