JOURNALIST RICHARD WANAMBWA RECEIVES DEATH THREATS FROM LAWYER DAVID MPANGA

City scribe Richard Wanambwa is living in fear for his life and family after receiving death threats from city lawyer David Mpanga and Jimmy Mugerwa.

David Mpanga is partner at Bowmans law firm Kampala office also lawyer for bank of Uganda while Jimmy Mugerwa is the former chairman of the troubled Dfcu bank also former General Manager, Tullow Uganda Ltd before he was unceremoniously recalled to headquarters in London.

The two men are at the center of the donation of former Crane bank to Dfcu bank and subsequent wrongful acquisition of properties belonging to Meera Investments where Crane bank was a tenant.
The deal has since gone bad and Dfcu bank is finalizing to vacate the properties and handing them over to owners while bank of Uganda under Mpanga’s wrong legal advice is yet to hugely compensate Crane bank owners.

Against this background, Eagleonline where Richard Wanambwa is a staff has been reporting about the proceedings about the whole saga starting from when Crane bank was fraudenltly sold at a take away price and Mpanga and Mugerwa’s names have featured in the deal.
Obsessed with the stories, Mpanga has started confronting and threatening Wanambwa through phone calls.
In one of the calls, Mpanga threatened that he knew where the journalist stays and where his children go to school raising fears that he could harm him and his family.

David Mpanga and Mugerwa have also written to twitter asking it to provide details of several accounts and their locations for allegedly publishing confidential information about Dfcu which they think should not have been for public consumption.
