In a fast moving world, where convenience is being put above everything in service; good payment options have been scarce up until the Exim Visa Prepaid Card. The card is, in the words of millennials; ‘lit.’ Financial pundits have, only a day since its launch, labeled it the best card alternative on the market today.

The prepaid card was launched yesterday in a pompous breakfast function at the Exim Bank premises in Nakasero. The launch had cultural performances from House Of Talent.

According to the Deputy CEO Henry Lugemwa, individuals don’t need a bank account with Exim to have it.

“You just need a National ID and two passport photos. You can withdraw money anywhere in the world. The maximum limit of withdraw is 25M while the smallest is none. Which means you can withdraw everything you have, from any bank, and in any country. It supports 5 currencies. And can be Even better is the charges are as little as 700 when you’re withdrawing from the Exim Bank ATM,” said Lugemwa, during an interaction with journalists.

In attendance as well, to represent the Minister of ICT Frank Tumwebaze, was Moses Watasa, who said that the Exim Prepaid Card was a revolutionary idea.

“The government of Uganda fully supports technological advancements like the Exim Prepaid Card Launch.

A representative from Jumia also said that if the card is used to purchase food, people will get discounts of upto 30k off of Jumia Food.
